Plastic and Wildlife

All of the plastic that we use ends up somewhere or the other in nature. Plastic is something that doesn’t degrade on its own. Animals have to suffer the consequence of plastic ending up in nature. We throw away plastic items every day and not all of it is necessarily processed. Humanity’s plastic problem is much bigger than we can imagine. But, despite being aware, industries do not take a lot of effort.
If people are aware, they wouldn’t use disposable cups, disposable food containers and so on.  But, using eco-friendly disposable cups and eco-friendly disposable plates are steps we can take. We can minimize plastic waste generation to leave little plastic to impact wildlife and nature. All of our plastic ends up in oceans and landfills eventually. So much so, it affects not only us but the wildlife in the ecosystem.

Using eco-friendly food packaging and eco friendly food containers can help humanity as well as wildlife. Our plastic ends up in oceans and affects aquatic wildlife. Sharks, whales and tortoises are some examples of animals that end up dead on beaches and shores because of plastic starvation. It affects wildlife to that extent that they end up on ocean shores and surface dead in massive numbers today.
We can see dead tortoises, fishes, sharks float to the surface because of starvation and breathing problems. Sometimes they eat the plastic and die of poisoning or they die of breathing problems because of plastic stuck to their gills and lungs.

So avoiding disposable cups, disposable plastic containers can go a long way for these animals as well as us. Tortoises and other animals actually grow their bodies around plastic items like beer cases. Sadly, it is true and they end up dying of deformities and other biological and environmental issues. We should be taking steps to undo this rather than just being aware of it. Using disposable containers for food will end up leaving our food in the sea and on land scarce and ultimately harm and starve us. The next time you pick up ordinary disposable plastic containers, think twice. You’re literally poisoning and starving yourself in the long run for the short term ease of using one.

Therefore, using biodegradable food containers as a substitute goes a long way for us and wildlife. Just replacing basic plastic items with biodegradable and eco friendly disposable items can be the saving grace for our planet and wildlife in general. Fishes and other aquatic animals are not the only ones affected by disposable plastic containers and plastic in general. But, farm animals like poultry, dairy also end up consuming it. This results in us indirectly eating plastic in their systems. So head to the nearest eco friendly food containers wholesale market and dispose of your plastic properly. This would not only help the wildlife but also you because plastic containers do more harm them good in every possible way. We have to care for ourselves and the wildlife because no one else will. Eco friendly food containers are the way to achieve this.
